I started riding dirt bikes in Ocotillo Wells in 1977 on a Yamaha CT1 and I have been riding out there ever since. I love the variety of terrain, the trails, camping and riding with friends. I have been active with the San Diego Off-Road Coalition for over 20 years and have been president for 9 years. I have been a director of the California Off-Road Vehicle Association for 16 years. I was recently appointed to the BLM California Desert Advisory Council to represent off-road vehicles and organizations.
I am active with Friends of Ocotillo Wells to help the park I love and have had so much fun in and to help keep it open for all of us to enjoy.

I’m 70 years old and have lived in San Diego since ‘58 and been visiting our deserts since ‘64.
Right now we have several vehicles for off road… Cherokee, Tacoma TRD Off Road, 2 fiberglass buggies, and a Corvair powered sand rail.
We have been on most of the interpretive off road tours that OW SVRA has held. Our latest adventure is being on the Friends of Ocotillo Wells board. Being on San Diego County’s Borrego Springs Community Sponsor Group gives me experience that could come in handy with FOW. My wife and I are both excited about being on the board.

My name is Linda Haneline and I’m the Treasurer for Friends Of Ocotillo Wells.
I’ve been coming to the desert for 45+ years now and have lived in Borrego Springs for over 17 years. I love to explore all the different areas in Ocotillo Wells as well as ABDSP. We bought our Jeep before we moved out here just for exploring!
After volunteering as a race official with The Sports Car Club Of America and retiring from that, I’m now spending time volunteering as a Board Member for Friends Of Ocotillo Wells. I enjoy helping out at various Park functions as well as helping to get Friends more active and recruit new members.
